Good morning Outer Bankers and welcome to another edition of our beach report.

This is Brandon from Seaside Vacations and I was bundled up this morning when I took the photo above and video below at a public beach access around milepost 4 in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.

Beach Report
With 50 major cities in the United States shattered previous low temperatures, yesterday was not a great day to be outside for most Americans, and the Outer Banks was no different. We experienced temperatures hovering around the low teens for a majority of the day and plenty of ice near the sound and ocean to show for it.

Fortunately, today is a bit of a warm up with high temperatures in the 30s this afternoon. Expect mostly sunny skies today with few cloud cover. No chance of precipitation so don’t expect to see any snow if you’re on the Outer Banks today. Big temperature increase in the near future with highs in the mid 50s on Friday and low 60s on Saturday.

Surfing Report
It’s too cold to go surfing today. Ocean water temperatures are in the mid 40s and there is little to no wave action going on this morning. I wouldn’t waste the time gearing up in a full body wet suit to deal with the weather today. Wait till Friday or Saturday to think about surfing again.

Fishing Report
Not much of a fishing report today, with hardly anyone fishing yesterday on the Outer Banks. Stay indoors today and try your luck at surf or pier fishing again this weekend.

Thanks for reading today’s beach report and we hope to see you soon…. have fun! :)
